Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for ROADTREK ZION I was parked at a quiet BLM site outside Tonopah when I first heard it — a high-pitched electronic whine coming from under the bed platform, followed by the Xantrex inverter’s display flickering amber, then red. The battery monitor I’d installed the week before showed … Read more

Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for PLEASURE-WAY ASCENT Most Pleasure-Way Ascent owners assume their Victron MultiPlus-II inverter/charger will handle shore power handoff flawlessly right out of the box — that the factory configuration is “good enough” because the hardware itself is genuinely solid. That assumption costs people money. I’ve diagnosed inverters that were … Read more

Awning Mechanism Repair and Fabric Replacement for PLEASURE-WAY ASCENT I was parked at a BLM site outside Quartzsite in March, midway through a two-week stay, when a sustained wind gust hit the Ascent hard enough to snap the pull strap on the extended Fiamma F45s awning clean off. The fabric didn’t tear — small mercies … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for HYMER AKTIV Ignore a cracked skylight seal on your Hymer Aktiv and you’re not looking at a slow drip — you’re looking at saturation of the substrate, delamination that spreads silently through the roof structure, and a repair bill that climbs from hundreds into thousands before you even realize … Read more

Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for HYMER AKTIV I pulled the shore power inlet connector from a three-year-old Aktiv last month and found white crystalline corrosion thick enough to flake off in chunks. Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for STORYTELLER OVERLAND BEAST MODE “Drew, my Beast Mode charges fine on solar but the second I plug into shore power at a campground, the inverter just… doesn’t switch over. Battery drains, shore power does nothing. What am I missing?” That question landed in my inbox last month … Read more

Awning Mechanism Repair and Fabric Replacement for HYMER AKTIV I’m standing on the ladder with my socket set spread across the roof rail, staring at the Aktiv’s Thule HideAway 1200 roller tube where it mounts into the composite channel. The fabric’s split along three of the fold creases, the torsion spring’s gone soft — when … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for STORYTELLER OVERLAND BEAST MODE I quoted a Beast Mode owner $3,200 to have a shop replace a section of the Sprinter roof membrane — half of that was labor, half was new material — after water had been seeping through for what she estimated was about six months. She’d … Read more

Awning Mechanism Repair and Fabric Replacement for STORYTELLER OVERLAND BEAST MODE Most Beast Mode owners don’t realize their awning fabric is already degrading the moment it ships — factory vinyl starts UV-cracking within 18 months of hard use, and by the time you notice tears spreading across the surface, the roller mechanism has usually taken … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for GRECH STRADA Is that lap sealant around your Strada’s roof seam already cracking, or are you trying to get ahead of it before water starts seeping in? Either way, you’re looking at exactly what I find every time I get called to one of these vans: that fiberglass-to-steel transition … Read more
