Awning Mechanism Repair and Fabric Replacement for GRECH STRADA I was three weeks into a desert loop out of Blythe, California, watching my Strada’s Fiamma F45s 250 awning fabric flutter and fray at the seams after what should have been a routine afternoon deployment. By the time I’d cranked it back in, a corner section … Read more

Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for GRECH STRADA You’ll hear two completely different stories about the Grech Strada’s Victron MultiPlus-II inverter depending on who you ask. Dealer service departments will tell you that any handoff glitch between shore power and battery mode is normal behavior, a “known quirk” of the system, and that … Read more

Awning Mechanism Repair and Fabric Replacement for OUTSIDE VAN ATERRA The Fiamma F45s 300 awning on the ATERRA mounts directly to the Sprinter’s aluminum extrusion rail through a bracket system that Outside Van secures with both Torx fasteners and riveted backing plates — sheet metal screws alone aren’t holding this load. When the motor begins … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for OUTSIDE VAN ATERRA Your ATERRA’s dealer paperwork doesn’t spell out what happens when water finds its way under a lifted sealant edge — or how to tell the difference between a repair you can handle with a caulking gun and one that’s already rotted structural plywood underneath. Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for OUTSIDE VAN ATERRA I was three days into a desert run near Sedona when I heard it — a rapid clicking from inside the electrical cabinet every time I plugged into shore power. Electrical Inverter and Shore Power Integration Service for WINNEBAGO EKKO Most Ekko owners assume their Xantrex Freedom XC 2000W inverter/charger will either work or fail completely — that there’s no middle ground. That assumption costs them thousands in unnecessary repairs and weeks of troubleshooting the wrong end of the system. The truth is messier: the … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for WINNEBAGO EKKO I was standing on the Transit 350 HD roof of a 2022 Ekko last month, eight-foot ladder planted on asphalt, running my fingers along the rear cap-to-metal roof seam where the fiberglass composite curves down to meet the factory Ford roof structure. The sealant there was separated, … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for COACHMEN GALLERIA Skip this maintenance and water will find its way in — not immediately, but inevitably. What starts as a hairline crack in sealant or a lifted seam becomes ceiling stains, then soft spots in the headliner, then structural rot that spreads into sidewalls and cabinetry faster than … Read more

Awning Mechanism Repair and Fabric Replacement for WINNEBAGO EKKO I pulled the old fabric off my Ekko’s Thule HideAway 1200 last month and found UV damage I couldn’t see from the ground—hairline cracks running parallel to the leading edge seam, the kind that start leaking water into the wall cavity before you realize the fabric’s … Read more

Roof Seal and Skylight Maintenance for THOR DAZZLE “Drew, I’ve got water stains showing up on my Dazzle ceiling near the vents, and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. The roof looks fine from the ground.” That’s almost verbatim what I heard from a full-timer parked outside Yuma last month—and it’s the exact … Read more
